Frames D3+K2 Strips

D3 helps your body absorb more calcium from your food. But D3 doesn't tell it where that calcium needs to go—K2 handles that job. Without K2, calcium can end up in places you really don't want it (like your blood vessels and soft tissues) instead of where it actually belongs (your bones and teeth). D3 on its own is only half the job. D3 plus K2 is the complete package.

Sounds like a lot, but it isn't. The official daily reference intake of 100% (10mcg) is the absolute minimum to avoid a deficiency, not the optimal dose. Modern research points to blood levels that you just can't reach with 10mcg. 50mcg is well within the safe upper intake level (100mcg/day for adults according to the EFSA). D3 is stored, so your body simply takes what it needs.

MK-4 is synthetic and works for 6-8 hours. MK-7 is natural (from Japanese fermented natto) and works for 24-72 hours. We choose MK-7 because one strip a day actually works all day long — no need to take it three times over. Most budget supplements use MK-4 just because it's cheaper.

Morning is best. D3 can have a mildly stimulating effect for some people, which isn't what you want at night. With or without food doesn't matter; dissolving under your tongue works no matter what you've eaten.

Always talk to your doctor first. Vitamin K affects blood clotting, so if you take blood thinners (like warfarin or acenocoumarol), your dosage and monitoring need to be spot-on. It's totally fine for most people, but something to watch out for with certain medications.

In the Netherlands, the sun is too low from October to March to get enough D3 through your skin, so taking a supplement is a must. But even in the summer: if you work indoors a lot, wear sunscreen, or mostly hang out outside in the evenings, your body doesn't make much D3. Taking it every day year-round makes a lot more sense for most people than just using it seasonally.
